Paula and I were both in our 20's when I shot Paula Yates for Penthouse, English edition. Although not very well known in America, she was quite the It-Girl about town in London and beyond. We were both in our twenties at the time. Having grown up with a very famous father, she seemed sophisticated beyond her years.Paula was a nice combination of smart, sassy and sexy. Lingerie of yesteryear seemed a natural fit for her and the elegant old world Reform Club.
The Reform Club was made famous by Jules Verne as the home away from home of Phileas Fogg in Around the World in Eighty Days. The Reform Club, the most prestigious private club in London was founded in 1836. The gentleman's club was a bastion of British manhood, replete with Chesterfield leather sofas, cigars and brandy. There were no women allowed until 1981. I slipped in to do a cover and layout for the English edition of Penthouse Magazine in 1978. Boy, were the members surprised!
